Clark forklifts emerged as a necessity of the industrialization process, helping to save labor, reduce transportation time, and improve work efficiency.
A forklift is a small industrial vehicle with a hydraulic lift attachment at the front to easily lift and lower goods fixed on pallets. They are used to load, unload and move goods in narrow areas such as ports, docks, warehouses, and factories, with a capacity of up to tens of tons and a lifting height of up to tens of meters. Forklifts play a vital role in reducing manual labor, minimizing transportation time, and improving work efficiency, thereby significantly contributing to economic development.
Clark – the world’s first forklift manufacturer
Before the development of modern civilization, all objects had to be moved up and down by human or animal power. In 1917, Clark invented the world’s first forklift, marking a new breakthrough in replacing humans for lifting and carrying large quantities of goods.
Clark once held a 40% market share of this product globally when it first appeared in the United States. Later, recognizing the value of the Clark forklift brand, Youngan Group of Korea completed the acquisition of the prestigious forklift manufacturer in 2003.
In 2013, Clark was ranked among the top 10 global brands and gradually established its position in various markets. The company established its fifth forklift manufacturing plant, and also the first one in Vietnam, in 2018.
Clark operates 3 factories in Vietnam
Clark Factory 1 – Cam Giang (the main factory in Vietnam) is a manufacturing and assembly plant for finished forklifts. Forklifts are completed here and exported worldwide, and their quality is recognized by both individual customers and distributors. All employees and workers are well-trained and work professionally, ensuring that they meet the stringent requirements of all markets, especially the United States and Europe.
Clark Factory 2 – Binh Giang is a mast manufacturing plant. A mast is the device that moves the forks up and down at the front of a forklift. This is an important component that every forklift manufacturer must pay close attention to, and Clark directly manufactures this part.
Clark Factory 3 – Chi Linh manufactures and supplies forklift frames. The sturdy frame is a strong point for the durability of the vehicle. The monocoque frame is the backbone of the vehicle, supporting the entire weight of the vehicle as well as the cargo.
Entire scale targeting the domestic Vietnamese market
Clark demonstrates excellent durability with the slogan “Built to Last”. Additionally, as a pioneer in forklifts, Clark has obtained many patents for this equipment.
Especially with the large investment in 2020, Vietnam will become a global manufacturing base for forklifts. Products manufactured here will be recorded in Clark’s history as forklifts produced in the shortest time with enough quality standards to be distributed globally.
At the factories in Vietnam, with the current capacity, the annual production is 2400 vehicles. It is planned to increase this dramatically to 6000 vehicles per year in the future.
After the test run, from 2020, Clark has improved 70-80% of materials such as tires, handles, and body parts that are used and produced in Vietnam. This will help reduce production costs, and the cost of forklifts will also be more suitable for Vietnamese businesses. In December 2020, forklifts with a capacity of up to 8 tons will also be produced in Vietnam. A Clark representative shared.
